Nip and Tuck Earlobes - Newest Fad in Cosmetic Surgery
"Earlobe Rejuvenation"
Are you unhappy with the appearance of your earlobes?
Do they sag or have too many wrinkles? Ready for a "nip and
tuck"?
Earlobe Lifts and Cosmetic Surgery
Earlobe lifts have become the newest rage in cosmetic
surgery. Earlobes go through the aging process just as the rest
of the body does. Exposure to the sun, heavy fashion jewelry
and piercings all lead to a less than youthful appearance.
Earlobes come in many sizes and shapes. Some are attached
and some are detached. Some people like to modify them by
piercing or tunneling. Tunneling is process creating a larger
and larger hole to create a tunnel. Women love to wear heavy,
large dangling earrings. All of this leads to a change in the
appearance of the earlobe over time.
Effects of Aging on the Earlobes
As a person ages, the collagen and elasticity in the earlobe
decreases and the earlobes often become elongated and saggy.
Wrinkles begin to appear. Thus, more and more people are
turning to new procedures called "earlobe rejuvenation".
Different techniques including fillers to plump the earlobe, a
surgical procedure called an "earlobe lift", or inexpensive
earlobe tapes now offer people different choices to improve the
appearance of their earlobe.
Earlobe Lift Procedures
The earlobe lift involves an incision close to where the ear
connects to the side of the face. Skin and tissue are removed
and stitched applied. The earlobe looks plumber and more
rounded with a decrease in overall size. The result is a
younger appearance.
For those who do not like the thought of surgery or the
expense, another alternative is available. Injectable fillers
can be done in the physicians office. This can be done on your
lunch hour and earrings can be worn immediately after the
procedure. Physicians can use fillers to smooth the skin and
plump up the earlobe resulting in a youthful appearance.
For women who have worn heavy earrings and stretched their
hole, some dermal filler injections can make the hole smaller.
Fillers in the earlobe tend to last longer than those that are
injected in the face and will last longer. Fillers cost
$500-$1500.
Inexpensive Earlobe Lift Options
Lastly, if you cannot afford these options, look for an
earlobe lift tape. The tape protects sensitive earlobes by
taking the weight off your earring hole. You simply peel and
paste the invisible, hypoallergenic adhesive behind your
earlobe. It will reduce the appearance of droopy earlobes and
will prevent future stretching.
I know that with so many options available there is a
solution for everyone. I do not know about you, but my ears are
ringing with excitement.
